AnExplorer's built-in music player handles all common audio formats from any storage location. Play local files, USB drives, network shares, or cloud storage — all from inside your file manager.

Playback Features
Background Playback
Music keeps playing while you navigate AnExplorer, browse the web, check email, or use any other app. The Android media session is active — the track title, artist, and album art appear in the notification shade and on the lock screen.
Lock Screen Controls
Full media player controls on the lock screen: track name, progress bar, play/pause, previous/next — no need to unlock to skip a track.
Folder-as-Playlist
Tap any audio file in a folder — all compatible audio files in that folder queue up as a playlist automatically. Best for:
- Album folders downloaded from Bandcamp or similar
- Podcast episode folders
- Audiobook chapter files
Shuffle & Repeat
Tap the shuffle icon for random order. Repeat: off, repeat-all, or repeat-one.
Gapless Playback
No silence between tracks. Seamless crossfade between songs in shuffle mode. Ideal for live albums, DJ mixes, and classical compositions spanning multiple files.
Variable Speed
Adjust playback rate from 0.5× to 2×. Incredibly useful for:
- Consuming podcasts and audiobooks faster (1.5×, 2×)
- Language learning playback at reduced speed (0.75×)
Sleep Timer
Set a countdown (15 / 30 / 60 minutes or custom) — playback stops automatically. Perfect for falling asleep to an audiobook without draining the battery.
5-Band Equalizer
Built-in EQ with presets: Bass Boost, Rock, Pop, Jazz, Classical, and a fully custom mode with individual band adjustment. Persists between sessions.
Audiobook Support
Long audio files remember their last playback position when re-opened. Resume exactly where you left off, even after a phone restart.
