Open Micro Startup
AnExplorer is an open micro startup — a solo-built, independently funded Android app that publicly shares its metrics, values, and development decisions. There are no investors, no growth team, and no ads driving downloads. Just one developer and one app, made by Hari Krishna Dulipudi.
Why Open?
Transparency builds trust. We share what we can so users understand the app they're relying on:
- No data collection. AnExplorer does not collect any personal data, analytics, or usage telemetry. See the Privacy Policy.
- No investor pressure. Development decisions are based on user feedback and long-term product quality — not growth metrics or monetisation pressure.
- No ads in the Pro version. The free tier is supported by an optional Pro upgrade. There is no ad SDK in the app.

Development Philosophy
AnExplorer started as a personal project in 2011 to build a file manager that worked across as many Android device types as possible. Over 13 years it has grown to support smartphones, Android TV, Wear OS, Chromebooks, VR headsets, Android Automotive, AR glasses, and Samsung DeX — devices most file managers don't support at all.
The compare section has honest head-to-head comparisons with every major competitor, including areas where other apps are better than AnExplorer.
What's Coming
