File Manager for Samsung AR Glasses

Samsung AR glasses run Android XR — a full Android-based spatial computing OS developed by Google and Samsung. Unlike display-only AR accessories, Samsung AR glasses with Android XR provide a complete app environment: you can install apps, manage files, and access cloud storage directly on the glasses.

AnExplorer is compatible with Android XR and available for Samsung AR glasses, giving you file management, APK sideloading, and wireless file transfer in a spatial interface.

Note: Samsung AR glasses are in early release as of 2026. Feature availability may vary by firmware version. This guide reflects the Android XR capability set.

Spatial UI on Android XR

Android XR apps run as floating windows in 3D space. AnExplorer on Samsung AR glasses adapts to the spatial environment:

  • Floating window mode: AnExplorer panel floats in your field of view, repositionable
  • Eye tracking / hand gestures: navigate the file browser with natural interactions
  • Pointer mode: compatible with Samsung's wrist-based pointer if available
  • Voice: Android XR integrates Google Assistant voice commands

Transfer Files from Phone to Samsung AR Glasses

  1. Open AnExplorer on your Android phone → WiFi Share
  2. Select files (APKs, media, documents)
  3. On the glasses, open AnExplorer → Network → WiFi Receive
  4. Accept the transfer — files appear in glasses storage

Android XR supports sideloading via the same flow as standard Android:

  1. Enable Unknown Sources: Settings → Security → Install Unknown Apps → AnExplorer → Allow
  2. Transfer the APK to the glasses (WiFi Transfer or USB-C)
  3. Open AnExplorer on the glasses → navigate to the APK → tap to install

Or use WiFi ADB silent install for deployment without UI interaction.
