File Manager for AR Glasses

Android XR glasses run a full Android OS in a lightweight, head-worn form factor. AnExplorer gives you file management on your glasses: sideload apps, manage local storage, transfer files from your phone, and browse cloud storage — all through a floating panel visible in your field of view.

AnExplorer works on all Android-based AR/XR glasses including XREAL Air, Rokid Max, RayNeo Air 2, and Vuzix Z100.

Supported AR Glasses

AnExplorer works on all Android-based XR glasses:

  • XREAL Air 2 — XREAL Air 2, Air 2 Pro, Air 2 Ultra
  • Rokid Max — Rokid Max, Rokid Station, Rokid Max Pro
  • RayNeo Air 2 — RayNeo Air 2, Air 2s (with MYVU Station)
  • Vuzix Z100 — Vuzix Z100, Blade 2 (enterprise)
  • Ray-Ban Meta — manage photos and videos captured by the glasses on your Android phone

Glasses that pair with a standalone Android compute unit (like Rokid Station) run AnExplorer natively on the compute unit.

Transfer Files from Phone to Glasses

The primary file workflow: send APKs, media, or content from your Android phone to your glasses wirelessly.

  1. Open AnExplorer on your Android phone and tap WiFi Share
  2. Select files to transfer
  3. On the glasses (or paired compute unit), open AnExplorer → NetworkWiFi Receive
  4. Accept the transfer — files land in local storage automatically

Sideload Apps on AR Glasses

Many third-party and enterprise apps are not available in the glasses' default store. AnExplorer's APK Installer makes sideloading simple:

  1. Transfer the APK to glasses storage via WiFi or USB-C
  2. Open AnExplorer and navigate to the APK file
  3. Tap to install — handled by the APK Installer

Enable Unknown Sources first: Settings → Security → Install Unknown Apps.

Interface on Glasses

AnExplorer adapts its UI for the constrained display resolution of AR glasses:

  • Compact layout: single-pane file browser, no split-pane
  • Large text: readable at sub-20° field of view
  • Remote/gamepad support: navigable without touch if a Bluetooth remote is paired
  • Minimal dialogs: confirmation prompts are single-tap

On glasses with 3DoF/6DoF controllers (like Rokid), AnExplorer supports pointer navigation.
