WiFi File Transfer for Android
AnExplorer's offline WiFi sharing lets you move files between Android devices on the same network — at full WiFi speed, with no internet connection, no cloud, and no data charges.
How Offline WiFi Share Works
Both devices must be on the same WiFi network (or one creates a hotspot). No internet is consumed — data travels directly over your local network.
- Open AnExplorer on both devices.
- On the sending device: select files or folders → tap Share via WiFi.
- A QR code appears on screen.
- On the receiving device: tap Receive in AnExplorer → point camera at the QR code → connection established instantly.
- Files transfer at full WiFi speed — typically 20–80 MB/s on WiFi 5/6.
What You Can Transfer
- Photos, videos, audio files — any size
- APK, APKM, APKS, XAPK installer files
- Documents, PDFs, archives (ZIP, RAR, 7z)
- Entire folder structures (sub-folders preserved)
- WhatsApp media, voice notes, backups
- Game data, OBB files
Transfer to PC or Mac Without a Cable
Use Warp Share to send files to a Windows PC via Nearby Sharing, or to a MacBook via AirDrop — without touching a USB cable. The recipient gets the files in their standard Downloads/AirDrop folder.
Transfer Speeds vs Alternatives
| Method | Typical Speed | Internet Required |
|---|---|---|
| AnExplorer WiFi Share | 20–80 MB/s | ❌ |
| Bluetooth | 0.3–3 MB/s | ❌ |
| WhatsApp file send | 1–5 MB/s | ✅ compresses media |
| USB cable | 30–120 MB/s | ❌ needs cable |
| Google Drive → download | 2–20 MB/s | ✅ eats data |
Full Folder Transfer
Select an entire folder — AnExplorer transfers the folder tree recursively, recreating the directory structure on the receiving device exactly.
No File Size Limit
Unlike WhatsApp (which caps at 2 GB and compresses photos) or Bluetooth (impractical over 100 MB), AnExplorer has no file size limit. Transfer 10 GB in one session.
