Video Player for Android
AnExplorer's built-in video player opens most video formats directly — tap any video in the file browser and it starts playing. No third-party app switching.

Hardware decoding: AnExplorer uses Android's hardware MediaCodec for H.265/HEVC and AV1 — 4K MKVs play smoothly with minimal battery drain.
Subtitle Support
- SRT (SubRip) — most common format
- ASS / SSA (Advanced SubStation Alpha) — styled subtitles with positioning
- VTT (WebVTT) — web subtitles
- External subtitle files are loaded automatically if they share the same name as the video
- Subtitle timing adjustment — nudge forward or back in real time to fix sync
Playback Controls
- Seek bar with timestamp display
- Variable speed: 0.25×, 0.5×, 0.75×, 1×, 1.25×, 1.5×, 2×, 3×, 4×
- Skip forward/back 10 seconds with a single tap
- Screen lock — prevent accidental taps mid-playback
- Brightness swipe (left side) and Volume swipe (right side)
Cast to TV
Tap the cast icon while playing to stream to Chromecast, Android TV, or any DLNA device — the phone becomes a remote control while the TV handles playback. See Media Cast for details.
Picture-in-Picture (PiP)
Press the Android home gesture — the video minimises to a floating overlay. Continue browsing AnExplorer or use other apps while the video keeps playing in the corner.
Background Audio
Go to the background while a video plays — audio continues with the screen off. Lock-screen notification controls available.
