File Manager for Wear OS
AnExplorer runs natively on Wear OS smartwatches, giving you direct access to your watch's internal storage from your wrist. Browse files, manage downloads, delete cached content, and pair with your phone for wireless transfers — all from the watch face.
Wear OS 3 and above (Android 11+ based) is supported. This includes Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 and newer, and all Google Pixel Watch models.

- Samsung Galaxy Watch — Galaxy Watch 4, 5, 6, 7 (Wear OS 3+)
- Google Pixel Watch — Pixel Watch 1, 2, 3
Older Wear OS 2.x watches are not supported. Tizen-based Samsung watches (Galaxy Watch 1–3, Gear S) are not compatible.
Transfer Files from Phone to Watch
The most common use case: send music, podcasts, or audiobooks from your phone to your watch for offline playback on runs.
- Open AnExplorer on your Android phone and tap WiFi Share
- Select audio files to send
- On your watch, open AnExplorer → Network → WiFi Receive
- Accept the transfer — files land in watch storage
Once on the watch, any media player app (Spotify, Podcast Addict, etc.) can access the files from local storage.

Manage Watch Storage and Free Up Space
Wear OS watches typically have 4–8 GB of internal storage. AnExplorer helps you keep it clean:
- Delete stale music: remove tracks you no longer listen to
- Clear app caches: delete large podcast or map caches
- Find large files: sort by size to identify storage hogs
- Remove duplicate downloads: AnExplorer shows duplicate file names across folders
Wear OS Interface Optimisation
AnExplorer's Wear OS build is purpose-made for round and square watch faces:
- Rotary input: scroll through files with the crown or bezel
- Large touch targets: all buttons meet Wear OS minimum tap size
- Simplified navigation: flat folder view instead of deep tree
- High-contrast icons: visible at 40–45 mm watch face sizes
Frequently Asked Questions
Does AnExplorer run directly on the watch or need the phone?
AnExplorer installs as a standalone Wear OS app. Most file operations run directly on the watch without needing the phone. WiFi transfer requires both devices to be on the same network.
Can I access phone files from my watch?
Not directly. AnExplorer on your watch manages watch storage. To move files between phone and watch, use the WiFi Transfer feature described above.
Which Samsung Galaxy Watch models are supported?
Galaxy Watch 4 (2021) and newer — these run Wear OS 3. Galaxy Watch 1, 2, 3, and all Gear S models run Tizen and are not supported.
Can I play music on my watch from AnExplorer?
AnExplorer manages files but doesn't include a standalone audio player for Wear OS. Use a Wear OS music player app (like Samsung Music or Google Play Music) to play files after you've transferred them.
Is AnExplorer free on Wear OS?
The core Wear OS file manager is included with AnExplorer free. Pro unlocks WiFi transfer without file count limits. See pricing.
