File Manager for PICO 4
PICO 4 and PICO 4 Ultra are standalone VR headsets by ByteDance running PICO OS (Android-based) on a Snapdragon XR2 Gen 1 (PICO 4) or Gen 2 (Ultra) chip. AnExplorer gives PICO users full file management: USB-C storage browsing, APK sideloading, wireless file transfer, and cloud storage access.
Install AnExplorer on PICO 4
Via PICO Developer mode + ADB:
- Enable developer mode: PICO 4 Settings → About → Software Version → tap 7 times
- Enable USB debugging in developer settings
- Connect USB-C to PC and run:
adb install AnExplorer.apk - AnExplorer appears in the Unknown Sources section of your app library
Via WiFi ADB:
- Enable WiFi ADB in developer settings
- Connect:
adb connect [PICO-IP]:5555 - Install wirelessly:
adb install AnExplorer.apk

Sideload Apps and Game Mods on PICO 4
Many Android games and apps are compatible with PICO 4 but not listed in the PICO Store. AnExplorer makes sideloading fast:
- Transfer the APK to PICO 4 storage via WiFi Transfer or USB drive
- Open AnExplorer and navigate to the APK file
- Tap to install — APK Installer handles permissions
- The app appears in Unknown Sources in your app library
Transfer Files from Phone to PICO 4
- Open AnExplorer on your Android phone → WiFi Share
- Select files (APKs, media, documents)
- On PICO 4, open AnExplorer → Network → WiFi Receive
- Accept transfer

PICO 4 Ultra has the same Android base with Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2. AnExplorer installs and works identically. USB-C 3.2 on the Ultra provides faster USB storage transfer speeds.
