File Manager for Microsoft Surface Duo
The Microsoft Surface Duo is a dual-screen Android device that runs standard Android apps. AnExplorer spans across both 5.8-inch screens when unfolded, giving you a full two-panel file manager experience — folder tree on the left screen, file contents on the right. It's the closest thing to a desktop file manager in a phone form factor.
Install AnExplorer on Surface Duo
- Open the Google Play Store on your Surface Duo
- Search for AnExplorer
- Install — AnExplorer opens in a single-screen layout initially
- Unfold your Surface Duo to activate the dual-screen split-pane layout
Dual-Screen File Management
When your Surface Duo is open (unfolded), AnExplorer uses Microsoft's Surface Duo SDK to span across both displays:
- Left screen: directory tree for navigation
- Right screen: files in the selected folder
- Drag and drop: drag files from right to left panel to move between locations
- Copy between screens: select on one screen, paste on the other
This layout makes copying files between storage locations significantly faster than a single-pane file manager.
Transfer Files from Surface Duo
Wireless transfer to PC or another Android device:
- Open AnExplorer and tap WiFi Share
- Select files to transfer
- Open the URL on your PC or accept on the receiving device with AnExplorer
