File Manager for Apple iPhone
If you are looking for a way to manage or transfer Android files from your iPhone, you are not in the wrong place — even though AnExplorer does not have a native iOS app yet.
Device Connect is AnExplorer's built-in browser-based file server. It runs on your Android phone and creates a local HTTP server that any browser on your Wi-Fi network can open. That includes Safari on iPhone. When you open the Device Connect address in Safari, you get a full file browser inside your iPhone — no download from the App Store, no pairing, no cable.
This is not a workaround. It is a deliberate cross-platform feature. For most file transfer tasks between Android and iPhone, it is the simplest and fastest method available.
How to Browse Android Files from iPhone Safari
On your Android phone:
- Open AnExplorer
- Tap the menu (≡) and select Device Connect
- Tap Start — the server starts immediately
- Note the address shown, e.g.
http://192.168.x.x:8080
On your iPhone:
- Open Safari
- Tap the address bar and type the address shown on your Android
- Tap Go — your Android file system appears in Safari
You are now browsing your Android phone from your iPhone. Tap any file to download it. Use the upload button to send photos or documents from iPhone to Android.
Both devices must be on the same Wi-Fi network. Device Connect does not work over mobile data. For internet-based sync, use a cloud bridge instead.

Transferring a Full Photo Library from Android to iPhone
If you are switching from an Android phone to an iPhone and need to move your photos and videos, Device Connect is one of the most reliable local methods.
- On Android, open AnExplorer → Device Connect → Start
- On iPhone, open Safari → type the Android address
- Navigate to the DCIM folder (Camera folder)
- Long-press or use the selection tool to select all photos
- Tap Download — files save to the iPhone Downloads folder in Files app
- From Files app, move them to the Photos library using the share sheet
For multi-gigabyte moves, use a fast 5 GHz Wi-Fi network. Transfers typically run at 30–80 MB/s depending on your router.
Cloud Storage as an Alternative Bridge
AnExplorer Pro connects to Dropbox, OneDrive, and Box from the Android side. If those apps are installed on your iPhone:
- In AnExplorer, copy files to your cloud provider folder
- Wait for sync (or trigger it manually)
- Open Dropbox, OneDrive, or Box on iPhone — files appear there
This method works over mobile data and does not require both devices to be on the same Wi-Fi network, but it depends on upload and sync speed.
What Does Not Work from iPhone Today
AnExplorer's native Android app features are not available on iPhone:
- Root file browsing (Android-only)
- APK installer (iOS does not run APKs)
- Wear OS watch sync (watchOS is separate)
- Offline background sync without a shared cloud provider
These limitations are tied to the platform, not to AnExplorer specifically. A native iOS app would unlock Files app integration, share sheet support, and background sync — which is why one is planned.
