OnePlus Pad — Great Hardware, Basic File Management
OnePlus Pad (and OnePlus Pad 2) features a stunning 12.1-inch display, Dimensity/Snapdragon processor, and the OnePlus Magnetic Keyboard for productivity. But the file management story is the same limited OxygenOS File Manager that ships on OnePlus phones — basic browsing, no network access, no cloud integration beyond Google Drive.
For a tablet positioned as a productivity device, this is a significant gap. You can't connect to your home NAS to stream media on the big screen. You can't manage Dropbox or OneDrive files alongside local storage. You can't wirelessly transfer files to your PC without a cable.
AnExplorer transforms OnePlus Pad into a proper file management workstation with its tablet-optimized split-pane layout, network storage access, and universal wireless transfer.

Split-Pane Layout on 12.1-Inch Display
OnePlus Pad's large screen activates AnExplorer's tablet-optimized layout:
- Left panel: folder tree showing all storage locations (internal, cloud, NAS)
- Right panel: file contents in list or grid view with thumbnails
- Drag and drop: move files between locations by dragging across panels
- Multi-select: long-press to select multiple files, then batch copy/move/delete
This layout is especially powerful when copying files between your NAS and local storage, or between two cloud services — you see both locations simultaneously without switching views.
Battery Optimization on OxygenOS Tablet
OxygenOS on tablet inherits the same aggressive battery management as OnePlus phones. Without configuration, Device Connect dies within seconds of switching apps.
Required settings:
- Settings → Battery → Battery optimization → find AnExplorer → "Don't optimize"
- Settings → Apps → App management → AnExplorer → Battery usage → Allow background activity
- Lock in recent apps: open recent apps → swipe down on AnExplorer's card to lock
- Auto-launch: Settings → Apps → App management → AnExplorer → Auto-launch → Enable
These steps ensure Device Connect stays running while you use your PC to browse and transfer files.
Wireless Transfer
OnePlus Pad doesn't include any proprietary PC transfer tool. Device Connect fills the gap:
- Open AnExplorer → ☰ → Device Connect → Start
- Note the address (e.g.,
http://192.168.1.42:8080) - On your computer: open any browser → type the address → Enter
- Browse tablet files, download folders, upload from PC
OnePlus Pad 2 with WiFi 6 delivers transfer speeds of 40–70 MB/s on compatible routers. The original OnePlus Pad with WiFi 6 achieves similar speeds. OnePlus Pad Go with WiFi 5 reaches 15–30 MB/s.
Use case: Start Device Connect on your OnePlus Pad, then access your tablet's files from any computer on your network. This is especially useful when the tablet is being used as a media consumption device — you can add new content from your PC without picking up the tablet.
