Google Drive on Android with AnExplorer
Google Drive integration is planned for a future AnExplorer release. Current builds do not yet include native Google Drive as a sidebar cloud location. This page explains what's available now and how to work with Google Drive files in the meantime.
Working with Google Drive Now
While native integration is in development, here are the best ways to access Google Drive files from AnExplorer today:
Option 1: Google Drive App + Share to AnExplorer
The official Google Drive app on Android lets you download and share individual files. For plain files (PDFs, photos, videos, ZIPs):
- Open the Google Drive app
- Long-press a file > Share > Open with AnExplorer
- From AnExplorer, move to NAS, compress with archive manager, or copy to another cloud like Dropbox
Option 2: Download to Phone, Manage with AnExplorer
Files you download from Google Drive land in your phone's /Downloads/ folder. AnExplorer shows this folder in local storage — pick up downloaded files and move them to FTP server, SFTP, Dropbox, OneDrive, or any other connected storage.
Option 3: Connect via Koofr (WebDAV Bridge)
Koofr is a European cloud service that lets you link your Google Drive account and exposes it via WebDAV. Adding Koofr as a WebDAV connection in AnExplorer gives you browse and download access to your Google Drive files today:
- Create a free Koofr account at koofr.net
- Link your Google Drive under Preferences → Linked accounts
- In AnExplorer, add a WebDAV connection to
https://app.koofr.net/dav/Google%20Drive/ - Use a Koofr app password (required — main password won't work)
Option 4: Rclone WebDAV Server (Advanced)
If you run a home server or NAS, Rclone can mount Google Drive and expose it as a local WebDAV server:
rclone serve webdav gdrive: --addr :8080
Then connect AnExplorer to your server's local IP at port 8080 via WebDAV.
When Native Support Arrives
Once Google Drive integration ships in AnExplorer, it will appear as a cloud storage option in the sidebar alongside Dropbox, OneDrive, Box, pCloud, and Yandex Disk — no manual WebDAV setup required. Keep AnExplorer updated via the Play Store to get it when available.
