Transfer Files Between Phone, PC & Meta Display Glasses
Smart glasses and augmented reality (AR) wearables—such as Meta Display Glasses (Meta Ray-Ban / Orion), XREAL Air & Beam, Rokid Max & Station, RayNeo Air, and Vuzix Blade—have revolutionized mobile media capture and personal heads-up entertainment. Equipped with high-resolution POV cameras, spatial audio speakers, and micro-OLED heads-up displays, these devices capture spontaneous moments and provide immersive media on the go.
However, moving 1080p and 3K video recordings from your smart glasses to your computer, organizing photos without cloud compression, or transferring music tracks for offline listening can be difficult through closed companion ecosystems.
AnExplorer provides a flexible, universal file management and transfer bridge for smart glasses and AR wearables. By combining AnExplorer Connect (featuring a Compact Glasses Display Mode) with high-speed local Wi-Fi transfers, you can export captures, manage storage, and organize media across phones, laptops, and smart glasses seamlessly.

Method 1: Exporting POV Captures from Smart Glasses to PC/Mac
When you capture photos and videos on smart glasses, the companion app syncs them to your smartphone's storage. Here is how to transfer them to your computer in full, uncompressed quality:
Smart Glasses ──► Smartphone Storage ──► AnExplorer Connect (Wi-Fi) ──► PC / Mac Browser
- Import to Phone: Allow your smart glasses to import recent photos and video clips to your smartphone gallery or companion app folder (
DCIM/MetaView/orPictures/SmartGlasses/). - Start AnExplorer Connect on Phone:
- Open AnExplorer on your smartphone.
- Tap the Connect card on the Home screen and select Start.
- Note the local IP address and port displayed (e.g.

Method 2: Transferring Music & Media to AR Glasses Compute Packs
For smart glasses paired with standalone Android compute packs (such as the XREAL Beam Pro or Rokid Station), you can push music albums, audiobooks, and offline movies directly:
Using AnExplorer Transfer (P2P Wi-Fi)
- Ensure both your smartphone and the smart glasses compute unit are connected to the same Wi-Fi network (or phone hotspot).
- On the smart glasses compute unit, launch AnExplorer → tap the Transfer card on the Home screen → tap Receive.
- On your smartphone, open AnExplorer → select the music albums, movie files, or document folders you wish to send.
- Tap the Transfer icon in the toolbar.
- Tap your smart glasses device name under Nearby Devices.
- The files will stream directly to the smart glasses storage at full Wi-Fi speeds (30–80 MB/s).
- Transferred files appear in the Received Files card on the Home screen (
AnExplorer/Transfer/).
Using Connect Web Upload (Browser to Glasses)
- On the smart glasses unit, open AnExplorer → tap Connect → tap Start.
- On your computer or phone browser, open
https://web.anexplorer.ioand connect to the glasses IP address. - Drag and drop audio files (MP3, AAC, FLAC) or video files (MP4, MKV) directly into the
Music/orMovies/folder.
Compact Glasses Display Mode (Optimized for HUDs)
Navigating a file manager on a wearable micro-display (such as a 600x600 or 800x600 heads-up display) presents unique user experience challenges. AnExplorer Web File Manager includes automated Compact Display Optimization:
- Enlarged Touch Targets: All icons, folder rows, and action buttons maintain a minimum 48px interactive target size for easy selection via temple touchpads or D-pads.
- High-Contrast Dark Theme: Deep black backgrounds with sharp white and vibrant accent typography conserve micro-OLED power and enhance text readability in outdoor lighting conditions.
- Simplified List Navigation: Long folder hierarchies are presented in single-column, glanceable views optimized for peripheral vision.
Backing Up Smart Glasses Captures to Cloud Storage
To ensure your POV memories are safely archived and accessible across all your devices:
- In AnExplorer on your smartphone, tap the Cloud card on the Home screen.
- Tap + and link your Google Drive, Microsoft OneDrive, or Dropbox account.
- Open your smart glasses capture folder in internal storage.
- Select your clips → tap Copy → open your mounted cloud drive folder → tap Paste.
- Your captures are safely backed up to the cloud without needing a dedicated desktop sync client.
Managing POV Footage, Audio Notes & Spatial Recordings
Smart glasses capture a wide variety of rich media formats that require dedicated organization:
1. POV Video Clips and 3K Recordings
POV video clips captured during sports, travel, or daily vlogging can quickly consume several gigabytes of phone storage:
- Use AnExplorer to sort recordings by date, duration, or file size.
- Rename files with descriptive titles or tags before uploading them to video editing software.
- Batch compress older video clips into ZIP archives using AnExplorer's Archive Manager to conserve phone space without deleting memories.
2. Voice Memos and Ambient Audio Recordings
Audio recordings captured via smart glasses' beamforming microphones are stored in standard AAC or WAV formats:
- In AnExplorer, access your recordings folder to listen to audio playback with waveform seeking.
- Transfer voice notes directly to your laptop for transcription or archiving.
3. Offloading Captures Directly to Home NAS Servers
If you run a home Synology, QNAP, or TrueNAS server:
- In AnExplorer on your smartphone, tap the Network card on the Home screen and connect to your home SMB / NAS share.
- Set up regular transfer routines to move hundreds of high-resolution photos and video clips from your phone's smart glasses cache directly to your home server over local Wi-Fi.
Troubleshooting Common Smart Glasses Transfer Issues
- Transfer Fails or Times Out: Ensure both devices are connected to the same 5GHz Wi-Fi band or phone hotspot. Some public Wi-Fi networks (hotels, airports) enable client isolation, which prevents peer-to-peer communication. Use your phone's personal hotspot instead.
- Micro-Display Cutoff: If the web interface edges appear clipped in your AR glasses, use your browser's zoom controls (or AnExplorer's compact view toggle) to scale the viewport to 100%.
- Storage Full on Smart Glasses: Check storage capacity on the AnExplorer Home screen storage bar. Move older high-resolution video clips to your PC or cloud storage to free up internal flash memory.
