How to Connect AnExplorer to Your Tesla Touchscreen
Connecting takes less than a minute and requires no apps to be installed on your car:
- Connect Tesla to Phone Hotspot:
- Turn on Personal Hotspot on your phone.
- On the Tesla touchscreen, tap the Wi-Fi icon at the top right, select your phone's hotspot, and check Remain connected in Drive.
- Start AnExplorer in Car Mode:
- Open AnExplorer on your phone.
- Tap the Connect card on the Home screen.
- Tap the 3 dots menu (
⋮) in the top-right corner and toggle Car Mode ON. - Tap Start. Your phone will display
https://web.anexplorer.ioand a local IP address.
- Open the Tesla Browser:
- On the Tesla display, tap the App Launcher (three dots on the bottom dock) and open the Web Browser.
- Navigate to
https://web.anexplorer.io(or type your phone's IP address, e.g.http://192.168.43.1:8080).
- Approve on Phone & Bookmark:
- Tap Approve on your phone when the connection dialog appears.
- Tap the Bookmark (★) icon in the Tesla browser so you can launch AnExplorer with a single tap on every trip.
Stream Movies & Shows During Supercharger Stops
Supercharger sessions usually last 15 to 30 minutes. Instead of watching on a small phone screen, AnExplorer lets you stream your favorite movies and shows directly on the Tesla center display:
